Former DP MP, Grida Duma, has reacted harshly regarding the statements of the DP Secretary General, Flamur Noka, at the party leadership meeting, saying that Duma had lobbied for Endri Shabani.
The "Top Story" moderator called Noka's statements a call to include her in the battle, while stating that the debate about the ombudsman is a political goal to hide some other things.
"Mul Noka had come out of the leadership meeting and declared that Grida Duma had lobbied for the Ombudsman. I can understand that someone wants to call me into some kind of battle to be fascinating. But since there are Albanians who have followed politics, me too, and democrats who don't know well when I get into the game, this is not the kind of game I play, this is a little bit certain. They know what they wanted to produce with this pseudo strategy, but I understand one thing that they don't know anything about. What don't they know? They don't know that a power like the Ombudsman, thank you for giving it to me, but I give it back to them with all the rags because they made it with patches with their own logic. The Ombudsman has no real power value, it is a political goal to hide some other things", she declared.
Duma further questioned the DP's handling of the fiscal amnesty law. She said that contrary to what some DP exponents publicly stated that the law favored criminal money, Gazment Bardhi made an amendment to add to the list of companies that would benefit.
"That law that comes out, because I don't want to factor it or defactor it, comes out and says that this is a law that the opposition cannot accept, that there is money laundering here, that with the money laundering that this law will bring in billions, the elections will be bought again. And for this law you have waited 8 months, 9 months to do the analysis for the OSCE to write there and you have wasted time with the field and with the Democrats so that the OSCE report that you have lobbied does not escape you. How did you pass this law without an amendment. How did you use that other one, the one that you have as the group leader to amend, as a rag, not to reduce the number of those who would be forgiven, but to increase the companies that would be forgiven", said Duma.
Duma also responded to accusations of "not being the opposition's opposition," saying that the leaders of the Democratic Party have been in power for over 20 years and are not letting go.
"They come to television studios and when they came to me they said the same thing "don't be the opposition of the opposition". Who is the opposition among you? You have been in power for over 20 years, from the first to the last. But where do you know how to relinquish power? If you knew how to relinquish power, you wouldn't do those petty things that you have done with a poor membership, a month ago a scandal broke out and it was a black shame for the DP and now I want to clarify that I have no reason for my good standard, for my human friendship, for someone to come and tell me that these people can come out and say whatever they want and deal with people whose words matter", says Duma.
