The Democratic Party has decided to officially launch parliamentary procedures for the dismissal of the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, accusing him of serious violations of the Constitution.
The decision was taken at today's meeting of the DP Parliamentary Group, where it was emphasized that the actions of the head of state are unjustifiable and contrary to his constitutional role. The DP's actions to dismiss President Begaj will be based on point 2, article 90 of the Constitution.
However, it seems that the opposition is making this move only for political consumption. It should be noted that the DP does not have the necessary votes to dismiss the president, as the law stipulates that the request must come from no less than two-thirds of all its members.
The DP also announced demands for investigative commissions for the May 11 elections and the Rama-McGonigal connections. Commissions that will likely remain only on paper, as they are unlikely to be supported by the majority.
