At first glance, the video and photos that Edi Rama published this evening from the meeting of the SP parliamentary group look like a common propaganda episode: the prime minister at the head of the table, MPs around, and an atmosphere that aims to convey unity.
But attention stops elsewhere. Two well-known figures of the majority are missing from the published materials: Erion Braçe and Elisa Spiropali. At least in what is shown by the prime minister's camera, they seem to not exist.
Ultimately, that's all that's left to discuss from the meetings of a parliamentary group where Edi Rama speaks, Edi Rama decides, and Edi Rama himself excludes. While the internal debate has been reduced to an almost grotesque question: where was Braçe sitting and why didn't the camera catch Elisa.
This is because the dissatisfactions of the two MPs, sometimes packaged as "rebellion", are not articulated in the meeting room. They only appear in the media or on social networks, as cautious signals of dissatisfaction.
At the parliamentary group meeting, the scene is different: obedient and “rebel” alike line up before the big boss. Even when he chooses to bypass or publicly humiliate them, no one speaks back and no one contradicts him.
Until now, at least. Because for Erion Braça and Elisa Spiropali, it seems that there is only one space where they find the courage to express their dissatisfaction and ambitions: social networks. As the only forum where it can be seen that Edi Rama is being opposed.
