The meeting of the conference of speakers is taking place in the presidency of the Assembly. The agenda of the Assembly is under discussion, as well as the two requests of the opposition for investigative committees. The DP has requested an investigative committee for the Albanian Road Authority and the investments that this institution has made for the National Roads Agency.
The meeting began with debates where Bardhi continued the accusations against Pelesh for violating the rules of procedure. According to the head of the democratic parliamentary group, the Constitutional Court has ruled in favor of the opposition regarding the requests for investigative committees.
"You have knowingly violated the Constitution. And not once, but twice. By 8 to 0, the Constitutional Court said that the Speaker of the Assembly has blown up the Constitution. So, the Constitutional Court gave us the right to dismiss you, but you overturned it with a political vote.
Therefore, the changes to the regulation are not urgent, because the Constitutional Court has not yet made the decision clear. So, there is no urgent matter to address. I'm telling you: the Constitutional Court has not made the decision clear.
Therefore, I kindly ask you to become the guarantor of the Constitution. Parliament cannot be arbitrary," Bardhi said.
