The judges of the Constitutional Court have decided to take more time to review the issue related to judges' salaries. The news was confirmed to BalkanWeb by journalist Klodiana Lala.
According to information, the panel of judges has not yet issued a final decision, postponing discussions to a future meeting. The date of the next session, where the consideration of this matter will continue, is expected to be determined in the coming days.
Following the Constitutional Court's request for more time to make a decision on magistrates' salaries, Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted. The head of government has continued his criticism of the justice system.
In his reaction, Rama states that the courts have so far issued 92 decisions in favor of persons removed from the system through vetting, according to him, granting them around 12 million euros in financial treatment from the state budget.
Did you know that the courts have so far ruled in 92 cases in favor of the sludge cleaned by vetting, giving them a financial treatment of about 12 million Euros from the state budget - that is, treating them not as guilty, but as victims who need compensation?! Even worse, these court decisions were issued with an execution order without the decision becoming final (in the Administrative Court of Appeal), forcing the SSSI to make payments from the pension fund due to the execution decision!
He adds that these decisions, according to him, were issued with an execution order even without becoming final in the Administrative Court of Appeal, forcing the ISSH to make payments from the pension fund. Rama warns that the amount may increase further, since according to him, the queue of beneficiaries continues.
"This is called irresponsible independence," the prime minister concludes his reaction.
