The next plenary session in the Albanian Parliament has been accompanied by tensions since its beginning, regarding the Belinda Balluku issue.
The situation escalated after the speech of the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, who accused the majority of protecting the interests of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure. During his speech, Berisha also used harsh language towards the majority, declaring that the parliament is a “den of protection for thieves.”
"As you can see, the parliament is a den of thieves' protection. Those who are behind my back and those from this side are the mask of Lubia and Rama. You have never had in this hall a group of people who trample on your vital interests to protect the buttocks of Belinda, in fact Edi Rama," Berisha said.
After this statement, his speech was interrupted by the chair of the session, Niko Peleshi, who reacted by saying that such language would not be tolerated in the hall.
"As long as I'm here, I won't tolerate this language. Sit down. I'll interrupt you," Peleshi declared.
After Berisha's speech was interrupted, Democratic Party deputies blocked the podium, further increasing tensions in the Assembly hall.
