The plenary session in Parliament turned into political debates between the majority and the opposition, forgetting even the agenda. The clashes had as a reference the protest held by the opposition on Tuesday, while the parties challenged each other with statements about who is less violent than the other.
On the Democrats' side, it was Berisha who led the accusations against the majority, for which he said that the police used violence against the protesters. The leader of the DP seems not to have reflected on yesterday's statement, which he repeated today from the Parliament's rostrum, where instead of apologizing to the parents of the minors, he encouraged their participation, saying that it was only the beginning of their revolt. The leader of the Democrat also said that no police officer was injured.
"No police officers were injured. I went to the emergency room. They had given a statement that there were 17 police officers. None. On the contrary, you shot them with rubber bullets in the head, and the young people are your terror, wait, it's just the beginning, they will bury you... Wait for their anger, you will get what you deserve from the young people. What is this hatred? You have filled the cells with teenagers, they hate you. The Albanian youth is awake and will wipe you out, because you stand at the foundation of their impoverishment," said Berisha.
The majority's response was returned by the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu, who called Berisha a pathological liar, because according to her, he went to the hospital and did not meet the injured police officers.
"Just as you were a gentleman in the hospital, so was I, but you chose not to see the police and turned a blind eye. You are a pathological liar, in addition to being a rapist and a chronic instigator of violence and bloodshed. It is in your genes to shed blood. Instead of being ashamed and distancing yourself from violence, you say that no police officer was harmed," she said.
The debate between the parties also escalated into insults with banal words. The leader of the Democratic Party called the majority MPs as "protectors of Belinda Balluku's ass". This term used brought about an "explosion" by the Socialist MP, Sara Mila, against the leader of the Democrat Party, accusing him of "burning" Albania since the advent of democracy.
"This non grata mayor, since he mentioned us as defenders of asses, has been burning Albania for 30 years for his and his family's asses," said Mila.
While Berisha replied by saying: "You should never respond to gossip."
