The Special Court set March 9 as the date for the first court session against Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, his wife Ajola Xoxa and 28 other defendants.
The date was set by a judging panel headed by Engjëllushe Tahiri and two members Alma Kodraliu and Rudina Palloj.
Veliaj is accused of 13 criminal offenses, such as corruption, money laundering, etc.
The defendants will be tried in the usual procedure and, among other things, the testimony of a justice of the peace will be heard during the trial.
