The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has ordered the deputies and leadership structures of the DP not to participate in television shows or debates without the party's permission.
In the message addressed to members of the Presidency, Parliamentary Group, National Council, central departments and branches of the DP, Berisha emphasizes that opposition representatives should appear in television debates only against political representatives of the government, the Socialist Party and its institutions.
According to him, DP MPs and officials should not confront analysts in the studio that he describes as "independent", accusing them of acting as substitutes for the government in the media and of serving to shift the debate from political leaders to the opposition.
Berisha claims that some of these analysts hold advisory or leadership roles in state institutions and that, according to him, they are used to cover up government affairs and scandals. In this context, he emphasizes that the opposition should not allow, according to him, its use "as a media mask" to hide corruption and abuses of the majority.
Meanwhile, the message emphasizes that interviews and statements related to government affairs, corruption and scandals should be used to the maximum extent by DP representatives.
Berisha also instructs that for any invitation from television studios, DP MPs and leaders should notify the Press Directorate in advance, in order to receive the official message of the day and avoid, according to him, government-controlled media.
In conclusion, Berisha announced that this decision will also be conveyed to allied parties, with the aim of ensuring that the opposition's position is unified.
