The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, did not spare accusations against the Democrats who participate in the meetings of former MP Ervin Salianji, describing them as collaborators of Prime Minister Edi Rama. During a meeting with the Democrats of branches 1 and 3 in Tirana, Berisha targeted the doctor Besnik Brahimaj, who was one of the speakers at the meeting held the day before by Salianji in Fier.
Berisha accused Brahimaj of collaborating with the socialist mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi, emphasizing that such persons do not represent the values of the Democratic Party and will have no place in this political force.
"Never feel sorry for those who fall into their morals and go to the other side. I see the doctor from Fier on TV. Just back, they tell me yes, he gave the building to KESH with Subash from Fier. Okay, doctor, give it to KESH, I have no objection, but don't sell your soul to Subash. If you have been in the DP for 30 years and now you come and tell us Subash's formulas, you are Subash, nothing connects you to democracy. And we will be separated from this category in one way or another. You have a business to enjoy, but you can never keep this party with your business. No pity for those who pretend to be democrats, and in fact work for Edi Rama," said Berisha — who in fact forgets that most of the members of his leadership have businesses. Even his family lives from businesses.
For Sali Berisha, Shkëlzen Berisha and Jamarbër Malltezi, they can do business and build during Edi Rama's government. But when democrats who don't think like him do this, it is considered "treason."
Finally, Berisha called on citizens to join en masse in the national protest on February 10, emphasizing that it will be a key moment to give, according to him, the blow the regime deserves.
