The Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, lied publicly from the Parliament podium, saying that there is no person under arrest in the ministry she heads.
"No one who spoke today at the Ministry of Education is under any arrest or suspension, including the lady in question (Arta Dollani). Lies, lies, lies," she said.
Kumbaro made this statement after being accused by opposition MPs of defending Arta Dollani, who holds the position of general director at the National Agency for Pre-University Education in the Ministry of Education.
In fact, contrary to what the minister declares, her subordinate is under house arrest, issued by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for 33 people following investigations into the transport of hazardous waste by the KURUM company.
The charges against Dollani date back to when she was the director of the National Environment Agency, appointed by Mirela Kumbaro, who was then the Minister of Tourism and Environment. She is accused of involvement in procedures related to the permitting and management of waste exports.
However, despite the security measures, it seems that Dollani has not lost the trust of her boss, Mirela Kumbaro, who not only does not dismiss her from her post, but shamelessly appears from the Parliament podium to deny a fact that is easily verifiable.
