The Forum for Political Dialogue, led by political scientist Ermal Hasimja, failed to bring together opposition members who do not cooperate with the DP and its allies.
The meeting, which aimed to come up with a joint statement on opposition political action and electoral reform, brought together representatives of the Democratic Party and some of its allies, but no one showed up from the parties of Adratik Lapaj, Agron Shehaj, and Arlind Qori.
While for Shehaj and Qori, hopes for participation seemed dashed, Hasimja claims that negotiations with Lapaj are continuing.
"We have been discussing it constantly, we meet, and we don't see any reason why Albania should not be part of this table," he said.
Two hours of discussions seemed to be enough for the political representatives and the Forum for Political Dialogue to come up with a common position. From this roundtable it became clear that on February 20, the Democratic Party will not only be in the square, but will also have a unified position on the Electoral Code and will support justice.
The DP was represented at the table by deputy leader Luciano Boçi, after Lapaj's previous request to avoid the participation of leaders of other forces was accepted.
