Elvis Shkambi and his uncle Gjon Shkambi have arrived at the Tirana police station. In the video provided by VNA, Elvis is seen wearing a white T-shirt and handcuffs as he is escorted into the police station.
Judge Astrit Kalaja was killed as soon as he announced the verdict and was about to leave the courtroom. The suspected perpetrator was Elvis Shkëmbi, the nephew of Gjon Shkëmbi, who was a party to the trial.
He then shot at the opposing party in the trial, Rakip Kurtaj and Ervis Kurtaj.
Elvis Shkambi, the perpetrator of the murder of Judge Kalaja, has confessed to the crime at Police Station Number 1. He admitted to the murder, while saying that he shot the judge after losing a property case.
"I shot him because I was losing a trial. I was correct with my papers," he testified at Police Station Number 1.
