Residents of the building for which Gjon Shkambi was on trial tell the media that the latter has come to them from time to time with a firearm, threatening them, and the police have not intervened.
They claim that the Shkambi family has no inherited properties in Shkodra.
"Now, Gjon Shkambi came here armed, to this house here since the owner was in Italy, we went out for him, we didn't let him break it. He came armed. The police came, we told him he had a gun in the car, and the police didn't go to arrest him or keep him inside for a day. Gjon Shkambi came there armed, we told the police, look, you're armed. The state is also to blame. He doesn't have any property because we took it to the AKP, the National Agency for Property Restitution and Compensation in Tirana, because Gjon Shkambi doesn't have any property in Shkodra," says one of the residents.
The conflict between Gjon Shkambi and the families living in the building, which lasted for several years, ended today with the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja and the injury of Rakip and Ervis Kurtaj. The perpetrator of this incident is Elvis Shkambi, the son of Gjon Shkambi.
