
The State Police has issued an official announcement regarding the serious incident that occurred during a court process at the Court of Appeal, where Judge Astrit Kalaja was killed.
According to the report, the perpetrator of the incident is 30-year-old Elvis Shkambi, who shot and killed Judge Kalaja in the courtroom. Two other people, father and son, Rakip and Ervis Kurtaj, with whom Shkambi was involved in a legal process over property issues, were also injured in the incident.
The injured have been taken to the Trauma Hospital and according to doctors, their lives are out of danger.

At around 15:40, in the premises of the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, during a court proceeding, it is suspected that citizen E. Sh., 30 years old (party to the proceedings) fired a firearm at the judge, citizen AK, and citizens RK, 65 years old and EK, 45 years old, his son (the other party to the proceedings).
As a result, citizen AK lost his life and citizens RK and E. K were injured, but their lives are out of danger.
Upon receiving the notification, the Police Services immediately went to the scene and made it possible to capture and escort to the premises of the Tirana Police Department, the suspected perpetrator, citizen E. Sh., and seized the crime weapon.
