21 days after the execution of Judge Astrit Kalaja in the courtroom, Gjon Shkambi, accused of being an accomplice of his nephew Elvis in the shocking crime, returns to the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana. He will face Astrit Kalaja's colleagues, claiming for a lighter security measure. Gjon Shkambi is requesting the lifting of the prison arrest measure, as he insists that he was not aware of the actions of his nephew, Elvis Shkambi, who executed the judge with 3 bullets. The hearing for him will take place behind closed doors and under strict security measures. Astrit Kalaja was executed in the courtroom at noon on October 6, immediately after announcing a civil decision related to enforcement actions. Elvis Shkambi is accused of being the author of the murder and his uncle, Gjon Shkambi, in the role of instigator. Father and son Ragip and Ervis Kurtaj, opposing parties in the trial with the Shkambi family, who had been knocking on the doors of justice for years over a property issue in Shkodra, were also injured in the courtroom.
