One of the daughters of Marjola Nakolec, the 36-year-old Albanian woman murdered by her husband in Volos, Greece, has recounted the dramatic moments of the event to Greek media. She was present at home when the murder occurred and says that the cause of the conflict was her father's jealousy.
"They fought because my father was very jealous," the girl says, adding that on the morning of the tragic event, Marjola had asked her husband for a divorce. "He grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground," she says.
The minor confesses that the situation had started to worsen recently, although the father was not violent before.
"We were fine... He didn't yell, he didn't drink. Just jealousy. That's why he did it," she emphasizes.
The girl's testimony continues with a shocking description of the moment of the attack:
"My mother was screaming 'help, help'. And he did it quickly and ran away. I saw the whole thing. And when he stabbed her and when she was screaming and when he pulled her by the hair, he threw her to the ground and everything."
"She was in the room, they were screaming. I didn't pay much attention, I was sleeping. Then my mom started saying 'you're going to kill me' and he said 'put the little one in'... It was me and my brother, he's 13. I don't know what to say, it was unexpected."
According to her, the mother had requested a separation a few days earlier, and the perpetrator had briefly left the house.
"He left for two days. Then he came back and told us 'I'm sorry'... But we believed him. I don't want to see him in front of me anymore...", the girl concludes.
