Former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako is still in the city's regional hospital where he was transported yesterday immediately after the Special Appeal sentenced him to 2 years and 8 months in prison and he should be returned to his cell.
Dako has been found guilty of abuse of office on two counts. He was under house arrest when the Appeals Court ordered his return to prison and he was immediately hospitalized. The decision was executed in his hospital bed where he is still in prison. According to his lawyer, Dako now has 10 days left in prison to serve, which he will likely spend in the hospital.
