Heavy rainfall over the past few hours has caused serious problems in the city of Durrës, making traffic difficult on the main roads and the “Taulantia” promenade. The most serious situation has been recorded near the “Niko Dovana” Stadium, where water has overflowed onto sidewalks and roads, impeding the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.

Meanwhile, in the Currila area, there were landslides blocking one direction of the road and making vehicle traffic difficult.

Local authorities report that, although the water has gradually receded after the rain stopped, difficulties are expected again in the coming hours due to forecasts for heavy rain and strong winds.
The intense rainfall has also created emergency situations in the south of the country, especially in the city of Himara, where the stream that runs through the middle of the city has overflowed its banks. This has caused flooding of roads and water penetration into the premises of the Himara Police Commissariat, where officers have immediately intervened to protect equipment from damage.
