The Shkodra police spectacularly failed to arrest Barush Bregu, a wanted man considered the right-hand man of Ibrahim Lici. Yesterday, police forces organized an operation to capture Bregu, who is wanted as an accomplice of Ragip Gila in the Shkodra massacre, with two people killed and two injured.
According to sources, he was traveling in a car with Ervis Baba and a 17-year-old in the "Gurrile" neighborhood of Shkodra. Police forces reportedly signaled him to stop, but they did not obey the order and the driver of the vehicle made dangerous maneuvers by increasing speed.
Barush Bregu got out of the car and fired a shot into the air as he drove away. The other two people were handcuffed.
The weapon used by Bregu was found inside the "Volkswagen Seat" vehicle in which the 3 people were traveling.
Barush alias Bajram Bregu, is wanted for the massacre in which Liridon Kraja and Armando Pali were killed, while Erogen Vaso Bajrovic, who is suspected of being the target of the assassination, and a waitress at the bar were injured.
He is charged with "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition" and "Theft".
Barush Bregu is known as the trusted man of the much-wanted Ibrahim Lici. The latter is a sworn opponent of the Bajri criminal group. The clash between them has caused dozens of victims.
