New details emerge regarding the case of sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl in Përmet. Through an official response, the Gjirokastra Police announced that they have arrested the 16-year-old's stepfather, citizen PB, 55 years old, an employee of the Përmet Police Station, who is suspected of sexually harassing the minor for about 3 years.
Also arrested were citizen KP, 46 years old, suspected of having an intimate relationship with a 16-year-old girl, and his friend, IP, 27 years old, both residents of Këlcyrë, after allegedly threatening their stepfather not to publish a video with intimate content.
Meanwhile, citizen AA, 53 years old, an employee of the Tepelena Police Station, who is also suspected of sexual harassment of a minor, has been declared wanted. It turns out that he is in Greece and intensive efforts are being made to capture him in cooperation with the Greek authorities.
Reaction of the Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate
Taking cues from a post on the social network Facebook, the investigative structures of the Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate began verifications and as a result, the persons involved in this criminal activity were identified. Given that there were suspicions that police officers were also involved, the cooperation of the Regional structures of the Police Supervision Agency and the Gjirokastër Judicial District Prosecutor's Office was requested. Under the direction of the Gjirokastër Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the AMP, the Police services accompanied the suspects and witnesses to the premises of the Gjirokastër DVP.
Following the investigations into this case, pursuant to the prosecutor's orders:
-The 16-year-old's stepfather, citizen PB, 55 years old, resident of Këlcyrë, employee of the Përmet Police Station, was arrested, as he is suspected of having sexually harassed the minor for about 3 years;
- citizen KP, 46 years old (who is suspected of having had an intimate relationship with the 16-year-old) and his friend, citizen IP, 27 years old, both residents of Këlcyrë, were arrested after allegedly threatening the 55-year-old to give them 1,000,000 lekë, in order not to publish a video with intimate content. The 46-year-old was arrested in Tirana, in cooperation with the services of Police Commissariat No. 2;
- citizen AA, 53 years old, resident of Këlcyrë, employee of the Tepelena Police Station (to whom the information posted on social networks refers), was declared wanted, as he is suspected of having sexually harassed a 16-year-old girl. Intensive work is being carried out, in cooperation with Greek counterparts, to locate and capture the 53-year-old, who, from verifications, resulted in being in Greece.
Also, in relation to this case, the Director of the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate has immediately suspended from duty the police officers Inspector PB, assigned to the "General Patrol" service body at the Përmet Police Station, and Inspector AA, assigned to the "General Patrol" service body at the Tepelena Police Station.
Further, in order to fully and impartially handle this case, the Professional Standards Directorate at the General Directorate of the State Police has launched a disciplinary investigation into both Police officers.
Five cell phones were seized as material evidence.
The minor is currently in the care of her family, as well as under constant monitoring by a psychologist.
Under the direction of the Prosecution and in cooperation with the AMP, the Gjirokastra Police are continuing in-depth investigations to individualize and prove the criminal responsibility of all citizens implicated in this case.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action.
