The Vlora Court has ordered the security measure of "prison arrest" for the 23-year-old owner of a hotel in the Borsh area, Emanuel Shkëmbi, who is accused of threatening two of his employees with a firearm. The incident occurred three days ago, when Shkëmbi, after a banal internal conflict, pulled out a pistol-type weapon and threatened the employees, putting them in serious danger of death.
The court session was held yesterday under the direction of Judge Ertil Meçaj. The prosecutor in the case presented the evidence and requested that Shkëmbi be sentenced to prison, which was also accepted by the judge in the case. The court accepted the prosecutor's request, deciding that the defendant be held in custody until the investigation is completed.
After the verdict was announced, Emanuel Shkëmbi was immediately transferred to Fier prison, where he will serve his security sentence. Sources close to the investigators say that the weapon used in the incident was in his possession without a permit and it is expected that he will be charged with other charges for illegal possession of weapons.
The incident occurred three days ago, where the escalation of the situation was prevented thanks to the intervention of the police. Sources indicate that the incident occurred for banal reasons. Investigations into this case are expected to shed light on the motives that led to the escalation of the conflict and the exact circumstances of the threat.
