Kristian Koni alias Olsi Meta, from whom the prosecution seized millions of euros of assets suspected of deriving from drug trafficking, turns out to have been in conflict with Vesel Demiraj, whose children survived a well-organized assassination attempt in the Lundra area.
The prosecution document states that Kristian Koni owns the property villa no. 2-B with 3 floors and a construction area of 391.1 square meters, with a swimming pool in the Mulltet area of Tirana, part of the Rolling Hills residential complex. This property was acquired through a promissory note with citizens Vesel Demiraj and R. Demiraj. The price agreed between the parties was 280 thousand euros and would be paid in advance by the buyer, to Kristian Koni through bank transfers.
Regarding the history of this property, it turns out that the promising party - seller, citizen Vesel Demiraj, had ordered this villa through a business contract associated with the company "AS Construksion".
According to this contract, the agreed price is 808 thousand euros, with payment in several installments.
At the time of the conclusion of the promissory note contract with Kristian Konin, the selling party had not yet completed the liquidation of the obligations for the purchase of this property. On March 18, 2024, the parties revoked the promissory note contract on the grounds that the promissory note party had not fulfilled the contractual obligations by returning it to its previous state.
After this, Vesel and R. Demiraj entered into a new promissory note agreement with the company "Kriol.AL" represented by Kristian Koni for the sale of the same property, for a price of 300 thousand euros. "From the data it is concluded that Kristian Koni's company Kriol.AL was involved in the transaction for the purchase of this property at a price significantly lower than the initial price of the order from Vesel Demiraj (808 thousand euros)," the prosecution emphasizes.
“Based on notarial deed no. 1946 rep. / no. 1328 col., it has been agreed that the sum of 300,000 euros shall be paid as follows:
202,000 euros within 10 days from the date of signing the contract, to the account of citizens Demiraj, at second-tier banks; 98,000 euros in one or several installments not previously determined, depending on the needs of the purchasing party and at the moment of signing the final contract.
"It has also been determined that the physical delivery of the property from the selling party to the purchasing party would be carried out after the payment of the first installment, in the amount of 202,000 euros," it is further emphasized.
So far, the investigations have not revealed whether the clash between businessman Demiraj and the suspect with ties to the Camorra mafia organization over this property was a motive or had a direct connection to the attack in Lundë, where Demiraj's children and a friend were seriously injured. So far, the police do not have strong suspicions that the target was mistaken. However, the coming to light of this detail is being verified by them.
Meanwhile, regarding Kristian Konin, it turns out that he is connected to the Italian mafia organization Camorra and was involved in drug trafficking. The assets in his name and those of his retired mother are suspected of being purchased with drug money, which is why they have been seized.
"In the context of this investigation, several correspondences have been identified regarding the criminal activity of Kristian Koni, where it is emphasized that according to Interpol data, this citizen is involved in criminal activity for drug trafficking during the period 2007-2012 in Italy," the file states.
Kristian Koni alias Olsi Meta is also known by the names Kelys Zydrunas and Zdanaivicius Ramunas, it is emphasized in the prosecution's investigations.
"Kristian Koni is found to be involved in a criminal group that operated in drug trafficking in Italy during the period 2007-2012, and changes in generalities and involvement in transactions with movable and immovable property with financial anomalies and suspicious actions linked to criminal sources have been found," the prosecution emphasizes. While his mother Fitnete Meta appears as a pensioner, including transactions with considerable property values that do not correspond to her declared status and income.
"In this context, the assets in their name and the legal entity "Kriol.AL" shpk represented by Kristian Koni, are suspected of being illegally acquired or obtained assets and consequently, the imposition of a preventive seizure measure is necessary for them," the file further states.
