The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to continue the security measure of "prison arrest" for Amar Shkëmbi, who was extradited from Dubai on Tuesday.
Shkëmbi is accused of the criminal offenses of "Murder of public officials", attempted, "Murder under aggravating circumstances", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons and ammunition", "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a structured criminal group".
He is one of 11 people suspected of participating in the organization of the assassination attempt that occurred on November 1, 2019 at the Shkozet overpass, while former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, currently a DP MP, Aleksandër Laho, otherwise known as "Rrumi i Sukthit", and Andi Maloku, the former prosecutor's driver who lost his life in hospital a week after the assassination attempt, were injured.
