A few months ago, in a powerful operation in Durrës against criminal gangs and organized crime, Elvis Doçi, known as "Visi i Pojës", "escaped" arrest. Today, in the Laws Committee, the opposition held the head of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, Altin Dumani, accountable, accusing him of exposing the "Ura" operation and the timing of the intervention of law enforcement structures.
According to DP MP Oerd Bylykbashi, delays in investigations and delayed intervention prevented the arrest of Elvis Doçi, also known as "Visi i Pojës".
"Why was the action for the URA operation delayed? If there had been intervention 10 days before the elections, I guarantee you that in the Durrës region the result would have been different. There were 52 security measures and only a limited number were brought before the Court and the most important ones fled, why were the investigations delayed? Why was the start of the operation delayed and was this operation debunked," said Bylykbashi.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the head of SPAK explained that requests for security measures were made in March 2025 and the relevant decision was given around May 5-6. He explained that the operation was coordinated internationally, as most of the suspects were in Italy and the implementation date was set for May 21. Dumani emphasized that the arrests are not the direct responsibility of SPAK, but of the State Police, as SPAK only issues the relevant orders.
