
SPAK head Altin Dumani has reported to the Laws Committee on the activity of the institution he leads, for the year 2024. Dumani stated that in 2024 there are 10 senior officials for whom there has been a final decision by the courts.
As he said, regarding the measurement of the risk level, the results show a high and stable level of risk, expanding in several categories of crimes.
He also emphasized that these individuals were officials with direct influence on public governance, institutional integrity, and the national economy.
"As for corruption, during 2024 the indicators show an increasing trend in the fight against corruption of public officials. These data show that of the total cases under investigation, only about 5.9% have been requested to be dismissed and 12.3% have been transferred to the Prosecutor of General Jurisdiction, about 1% have been suspended while about 67.4% of the cases remain part of the investigations for 2025.
"In 2024, there are 10 senior officials for whom there has been a final court decision. As far as measuring the level of risk is concerned, they show a high and stable level of risk, expanding into several categories of crimes and with a direct impact on public governance, institutional integrity and the national economy," said Dumani.
Among other things, the head of SPAK reported that during 2014, 854 criminal proceedings were investigated, where 33 former senior officials were prosecuted in the field of corruption, of whom 19 were sent to trial and 10 were convicted with a final decision.
"During 2014, 854 criminal proceedings were investigated, of which 526 carried over from 2023 and 328 registered in 2024. Compared to the previous year, there is an increase of 9.7% in new proceedings, and 13% in completed investigations.
