Isuf Jaçaj, 58, was killed on Saturday evening after a powerful TNT explosion in the coastal city of Saranda. The incident shocked residents of the area, while authorities are investigating revenge as a possible motive for the attack.
The preliminary suspicions are related to a previous conflict, where on July 17, the victim's son was involved in a criminal incident. He is currently in prison, accused of supporting the perpetrators of a wounding, specifically Ramadan and Erjon Canaj, who shot two young men after a clash over land on the coast.
This is not the first attack on the Jaçaj family. Just three months ago, on July 22, the car of Klaus Jaçaj – the victim’s son – was blown up with TNT. The vehicle was parked near a building in neighborhood number 3 of Saranda, the same area where the fatal attack on his father took place.
Investigations are ongoing to fully uncover the incident and identify the perpetrators.
