The burning of the facade of the former villa in Bllok costs Ilir Proda his career as head of the State Police. Sources indicate that Proces has been dismissed from his post, while Sokol Bizhga has been appointed as his deputy.
The French Embassy in Tirana and Prime Minister Edi Rama have also reacted strongly to last night's event after the Molotov cocktail attack on Villa 31 in the former Blloku area in Tirana, the former residence of dictator Enver Hoxha, which has been operating as a residence for international artists since 2025.
The attack occurred during last night's opposition protest, where incendiary devices were thrown at the building, causing material damage.
According to authorities, at least 12 foreign artists were present at the premises of Villa 31, who were endangered by acts of violence.
The building is managed by the Art Explora Foundation, with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges and strengthening ties between Albania and other European countries.
