For the second time, the police declare that they will not take over the opposition protest called for today at 6:00 PM.
"Based on the incidents that occurred during the previous rally, where acts of violence and the use of dangerous means against police officers were evidenced, the participation of masked persons and the use of minors in the rally, as well as the information provided on the possibility of repeating such actions, the Tirana Police has responded to the political entity that it does not undertake to guarantee the development of the rally," the police announced.
But it further emphasizes that "regardless of the response received, the Tirana Police, in fulfillment of its functional duties, has taken all measures to guarantee public order and security in the city of Tirana, the protection of state institutions, as well as the free movement of vehicles and citizens, in the event that the rally takes place."
So the police, through this announcement, are saying and taking measures for the protest. Next time, maybe they should be clearer in informing the public.
