Durim Bami, considered the strongman of Nikla, who was deported yesterday from Dubai to Albania, is requesting transfer to the Fushë Krujë prison, as he claims that his opponents are isolated in other detention centers.
"Durim Bami is accused by the Special Prosecution Office for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, for committing the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder" committed in a special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group and participation in a structured criminal group".
Meanwhile, at the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, a criminal case has begun and is being tried against structured criminal groups such as the "Martina", "Avdylaj", "Bajraj" groups, etc., where the defendants are around 16 people, who together (according to SPAK) sought the physical elimination of citizen Durim Bami.
In this process, the defendant Durim Bami is in the capacity of the victim of the criminal offense.
In the institution where he is currently accommodated, in the Penitentiary Institution on Rr. “J. Misja” Tirana (prison 313) as well as in the Penitentiary Institution 302, Rruga “Mine Peza” Tirana, in the Penitentiary Institution Peqin and the Penitentiary Institution Reç Shkoder, etc., there are persons who in the past have provided conditions for his murder, a fact known worldwide by the media and documented in the relevant criminal proceedings.
"In my capacity as the defense attorney of citizen Durim Bami, currently detained in IEVP 313 following his extradition, I present this request for his immediate transfer to another detention institution," the lawyer writes.
According to the legal defense attorney, "their (opponents') presence in the same environment creates a real, serious and present danger to his life and physical integrity."
"The prison administration has an obligation to guarantee the safety of every person deprived of liberty. Failure to take preventive measures in a situation of individualized and known risk would constitute a violation of legal and conventional obligations for the protection of life," the lawyer emphasizes. He also recounts the meeting in detention center 313 in Tirana with Durim Bami.
"It turns out that he is in poor health, is being held in poor conditions, and is under constant stress due to the presence in this institution of several people arrested on charges of attempted murder in a structured criminal group against him."
"Under these conditions, we request the immediate transfer of citizen Durim Bami to another institution, where there are no persons who pose a threat to his life, and currently the most suitable institution where there are no persons in conflict with citizen Durim Bami is the Fushë Krujë Prison, given that it is also close to his residence," the lawyer emphasizes.
The request was addressed to the Director General of Prisons, SPAK and the Minister of Justice.
