The suspect in the murder of 17-year-old Albanian Aleks Vangjeli, an incident that occurred the night before in Loutraki, Corinth, has been arrested. According to police sources, the suspect is a 17-year-old Greek citizen. He was taken to the local police headquarters and during questioning admitted to the murder of Aleks Vangjeli, as well as the wounding of the victim's friend, 19 years old.
According to his preliminary testimony, the conflict began after a trivial argument between young people. Investigations to fully clarify the circumstances are ongoing.
The minor's mother has also been arrested and is facing charges of neglect of a minor and attempted concealment of evidence. According to police sources, she is suspected of attempting to mislead authorities by claiming that the injured 19-year-old was the perpetrator of the incident. The arrested are expected to appear in court on Saturday morning for a security measure.
