The show "Në Shënjestër" on News24, with journalist Klodiana Lala as its author, broadcast this Tuesday the latest news from the investigations launched in Spain into the disappearance of Miklovan Dakaj, the young man from Shkodra who has been missing since May 12 of this year.
In the investigative file for this event, there is the testimony of Miklovan's wife and father who indicate that the bitter news came to them only a few days after they had reported the loss of their man to the police, from a courier who was apparently delivering the message from the people who had a hand in Miklovan's sudden disappearance.
"Miklovani has been killed, don't look for him," the courier is reported to have said.
"I went to the police station to report the loss of my son Miklovan Dakaj. On May 13, 2025, at around 10:00 am, my son's daughter-in-law, who is in Spain with her daughter, called my wife and told her that Miklovan had not returned to the house where they were staying in the town of Marbella, in Malaga, Spain," Pal Dakaj, the father of 34-year-old Miklovan Dakaj, testified.
Excerpt from the documentary:
The disappearance of Miklovan Dakaj
His is the story of another Albanian who, under strange circumstances, lost track of the Spanish state.
Even surprisingly, in the same region of the Iberian Peninsula, where many other Albanians have disappeared.
Or in what is now known as the Spanish Bermuda of Albanians, who leave here on vacation and no one knows anything about their fate.
A similar fate befell Tauland Malshi from Lezha, who mysteriously disappeared in 2018, in a town near Malaga, never to return to his family.
Or that of the Albanian Air Force pilot, Major Sokol Feka, who lost his life in this very region in 2015 while, according to Spanish authorities, he was transporting cocaine in his aircraft.
Predestined destinies which seem to be connected at some point to that of Miklovan Dakaj.
Shkodrani has been missing from his family since May of this year, after he disappeared under unclear circumstances in the same region of Spain as his equally unfortunate ancestors.
A Bermuda Triangle in the Kingdom of Spain that connects Malaga-Albanians and drugs that seems to be eating away at the minds of many young Albanians.
Who, in their dream of getting rich as quickly as possible, fall prey to cruel criminal drug trafficking groups, who have found precisely this strategically important section that connects the Iberian Peninsula with Morocco to transport tons of drugs.
The success and failure of their passage through this sea and air bridge, which has in a way determined the fate of the Albanians involved in such work.
Criminal organizations led by the most vicious and notorious drug trafficking leaders, who collaborate with Albanians, who have no qualms about betraying even their own blood when it comes to the benefits that come from drugs.
Luckily, Miklovan Dakaj also accompanied him.
Whose last contact with family was on May 12, 2025 in the city of Marbella in Malaga.
Where he had been staying for some time with his Albanian-Italian wife and their child, only a few months old.
The first complaint to the Albanian police about the loss of his son came from his father, Pal Dakaj.
Almost 3 weeks after Mikovan lost all contact with them and the woman.
Pal Dakaj, who waited in vain for his son to return to his family and in the anxiety of the days that were passing and there was no trace of him, traveled from Italy where he had moved for health reasons, along with his wife and other son, and reported Miklovani's disappearance to the Shkodra police.
In the hope that perhaps the authorities could help him get in touch with the boy.
A hope that proved futile, as Miklovani not only did not return to his family, but he did not even send a message asking if he was well.
Miklovan's family was informed of his failure to return to his apartment in the city of Marbella in Malaga, on May 13th.
So, less than 24 hours have passed since his departure.
An announcement that, according to the testimony given by Pal Dakaj, was made by his son's wife.
But apparently before turning to the police, they had decided it would have been better to wait.
With the thought that someone would bring them a message, even if it was from those who had a hand in their son's disappearance.

'I went to the police station to report the loss of my son Miklovan Dakaj. On May 13, 2025 at around 10:00 am, my son's daughter-in-law, who is in Spain with her daughter, called my wife and told her that Miklovan had not returned to the house where they were staying in the town of Marbella, in Malaga, Spain.'
According to the boy's daughter-in-law, the time when Miklovani left the apartment, never to return, was the afternoon of May 12th.
He had not expressed any concerns during his departure.
Except for the fact that he would meet a friend and quickly return to the apartment.
But as the hours passed and so did the evening, the next morning he did not see his family.
What raised the alarm in his wife.
Which, according to the confession she had made to Miklovani's parents, had been taken and filed a complaint at the Marbella police station, after losing contact with her husband.
Paul Dakaj
'The son's daughter-in-law told my wife that Miklovani had not returned.
in their rented apartment in the city of Marbella, since the evening of May 12.
For this reason, she had filed a complaint with the Spanish authorities in the city of Marbella, Spain.
Regarding the circumstances of how Miklovani left the apartment, the boy's daughter-in-law told us that on lunchtime on May 12th they had gone to vaccinate their little daughter, who is 8 months old.
After returning to the apartment, they had lunch outside and when they returned to the apartment, Miklovani had told her that he would come home later, as he was meeting a friend, to drink coffee.
But Miklovani had not told his wife the name of the friend he was going to meet.
Not even about the conversation they would have with each other.
But it was enough to tell him that it was just a social coffee.
A lunch that would be the last between them, as from that moment on she was never seen again with her husband.
While she returned to the apartment alone with her several-month-old daughter.
Miklovan Dakaj and his wife T. M, who, according to the confession made to the police by his father, had been living in Spain for two years
Paul Dakaj
'My son's daughter-in-law's name is TM and she has Italian citizenship. She lived with my son Miklovani for years. During the conversations I have had with her, she has not told me that Miklovani had any concerns.'
But while the family, both in Spain and his parents' in Shkodra, did not report any concerns that Miklovani had brought them, the news that would follow about his fate once again raised their concern that something bad had happened to their loved one.
What they had prayed all along would not happen to them.
Bitter news that came to them just a few days after they had reported the loss of their man to the police.
From a courier who was apparently delivering the message from the people who had a hand in Miklovan's sudden disappearance.
News that reached the Dakaj family in Shkodra from a person from the city of Durrës
The testimony
After the Dakaj family learned about the loss of their son Miklovan in the city of Marbella in Spain, a person from Durrës appeared to them, telling them that 'Miklovan has been killed, don't look for him,'
But what was Miklovan Dakaj's life like, beyond family devotion?
Or the cover of an exemplary father who takes care of his daughter.
Why had he moved to Spain and specifically to the Malaga area?
And is his stay there related to his involvement in criminal groups involved in drug trafficking, which exploit this particular area of Spain to carry out their activities?
Why does the family suspect that he was murdered and is this related to his past?
Who are the friends who may have betrayed him and led him to the criminal groups in the area? And is this related to the loss of some amount of drugs, where Miklovan Dakaj may have been held hostage and then executed by these criminal groups?
According to data provided by the show 'Në Shënjestër', Miklovan Dakaj had a not very praiseworthy past in relation to justice.
He had reportedly served a three-month sentence in Italy, and that is the only criminal record he had with law enforcement authorities.
But no one knows what the reason for his detention by Italian justice was.
