The testimony of Gazment Buçpapa, arrested the day before for the murder of Egli Pashollar, has been revealed. The incident took place in the area of the former Bus Park in Tirana.
Buçpapa stated that the victim had insulted him in front of his wife and blocked his path with his car.
"Egli Pashollari cursed at me from the car. I honked my horn to clear the road. I acted in self-defense," he said, explaining the reason why he used the cold weapon.
Buçpapa also showed the dynamics of the event.
"I picked up my wife at work and headed to the hospital, but found the road blocked. I honked my horn, but he got out of the car and cursed at me," the suspect stated.
Police announced that Buçpapa was located and arrested at his apartment in Tropoja. He is accused of the criminal offenses of "intentional murder" and "unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons."
31-year-old Egli Pashollari was killed on February 20 on Kongresi i Lushnjes Street in Tirana. Buçpapa's wife, who works at a supermarket near the scene, had previously reported that Pashollari was harassing her, but according to Buçpapa, the conflict started because of the roadblock and insults.
According to the investigation, Buçpapa, along with his wife and another person, had a conflict with Pashollari, stabbing him to death. After the incident, they drove away the body, then took a taxi to their apartment in the Sharra area, where Buçpapa then fled.
