Plarent Dervishaj, accused of the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, which left 1 person dead and two injured, requested through his lawyers a closed-door hearing, arguing that the media had distorted the witnesses' statements.
Prosecutor Adnan Xholi spoke out against the request, which led to a harsh reaction from Dervishaj. He dismissed the lawyers and left the courtroom.
"You conduct the trial," said Dervishaj.
The GJKKO decided, after retiring to the council chamber, to continue the trial without the presence of the defendant, Plarent Dervishaj, while appointing a defense attorney.
The trial panel imposed compulsory escort for the other co-defendants: Bashkim Haxhia, Ramazan Rraja and Endrit Sinani, who were convicted in separate trials for the same criminal offense.
The next session was scheduled for December 5th.
