Investigations into the murder of Renato Hoxhaj, 58, on April 27, 2025 in Vlora, have revealed that behind the assassination, which was carried out by a Romanian hired killer, was a well-organized criminal network, with the involvement of well-known names such as Alesio Dobrozi.
The show "Në Shënjestër" has published data on Alessio Dobrozi, who is a well-known name in the criminal world, involved in numerous criminal events in Albania and Italy.
"He is known to be part of a violent group in Lezha, which also included Roan Brahimi, now executed in Greece, and Ramazan Rraja, the nephew of former socialist MP Rrahman Rraja.
Dobrozi was also a suspect in the case of the "Audi" gang in Italy, which carried out spectacular robberies, and for this he was sentenced in 2018 to 4 years and 6 months in prison and an 800 euro fine. After his release, his name was involved in a criminal incident in Lezha in 2021, where three masked people entered a bar to ask for customers' ID cards, following the owner of the bar with whom they had a conflict.
"Dobrozi is also suspected of being the organizer of the assassination attempt on July 17, 2022 at the Fushë-Krujë overpass, where four people lost their lives, including Ervis Martinaj's cousin," the investigative file states.
Investigations reveal that on April 9, 2025, Eris Mehmetaj and Laert Maçi went to Kamëz to pick up a Range Rover Sport vehicle, which would later be used in Hoxhaj’s execution. Mehmetaj claimed that he was contacted by Alesio Dobrozi, who was staying in Dubai, to pick up the car and deliver it to a person known as “Poçi” from Vlora. The delivery took place at “Shqiponja” Square in Tirana.
Investigations also revealed that the legal purchaser of the car was D. Sako, who was unaware of the vehicle's use and had not participated in the crime.
Her son, Igli Sako, was the person who provided his mother's ID card for the purchase of the vehicle.
In their apartment, police also found remains of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa plant, which they declared belonged to Igli Sako.
Faced with images that left no doubt, Eris Mehmetaj and Laert Maçi admitted to the investigative group that they were the ones who had taken the 'Land Rover' car from the premises of the shoe company.
But the only one who admitted that he was interested in buying the car was Eris Mehmetaj.
Who also revealed the name of the person who had contacted him from Dubai to purchase the vehicle in question.
According to him, this person was Alesio Dobrozi.
A well-known criminal name, who from time to time has been involved in numerous criminal events.

But upon being released from prison and arriving in Albania, his name came to the fore in the event in Lezha in 2021, where three masked and armed people entered a bar and began asking for the identity cards of the people who were currently in the business premises.
This was in search of the owner of the bar, with whom they had an open quarrel.

of the body of the victim Renato Hoxhaj in the morgue of the Vlora hospital, as well as the shell casings that were found at the place where he was executed, was the fact that he had been shot with two firearms.
So the perpetrator had chosen to be safe in his shooting and not accept any surprises, which could even be a gun jam.
Or it could have happened that the first gun he fired jammed and he pulled another pistol from his bag.
Which shows that he was a professional in his work as a hired killer.
Investigation File
From the crime scene examination in the area where the victim Renato Hoxhaj was found murdered,
3 firearm cartridges were found and seized as material evidence, with various markings 'TSC 9×19', 'LUGER CBC 9mm' and 'PPU 32 Auto'.

and lived an ordinary life, guarded as if he were a problematic criminal figure.
Something that was also noticed during the search of his apartment.
Where a DVR device was discovered, from the security camera system installed in the apartment.
Which shows that he wasn't all that unprepared for what his end could be.
Meanwhile, from the examination of his body in the morgue of the Vlora hospital, four bullets were found to have been shot in the back, two of which were in the head.
Which suggests that the perpetrator followed him until he approached him and hit him.
The perpetrator who arrives and leaves the scene precisely in the 'Land Rover' car purchased by Igli Sako using the identification documents of his mother D. Sako.
And Eris Mehmetaj as the person who went and picked it up in Kamëz, where it was purchased, just two weeks before it was later used in a crime by Romanian hitman Daniel Cornea.
