The wife of Gazment Buçpapaj, the suspected perpetrator of the murder of Egli Pashollar, has given her testimony, revealing details about the incident that occurred on February 20, 2026 in Tirana. According to sources, Laureta Buçpapaj stated that at around 15:05, after finishing work, she left in the "Audi" vehicle driven by her husband.
While driving on “Ylbere Bylykbashi” and “Kongresi i Lushnjes” streets, a gray vehicle blocked their path. According to her, her husband honked his horn to signal her to move, but the other driver insulted them. The gray vehicle then stopped and three people got out of it, leading to a physical altercation.
Laureta Buçpapaj states that she intervened to separate the parties and then found that the driver was covered in blood. The couple first left by car, which they abandoned about 50 meters from the scene, and then by taxi to the apartment.
In the apartment, according to her, Gazment Buçpapaj changed clothes and left on foot towards the center of Tirana without picking up the phone. She added that she did not see the moment of the attack, but suspects that her husband may have used a folding knife that she had seen earlier in the car.
