Lawyer Ulian Barjami was invited this evening to the show "Top Story" on Top Channel, just a few hours after his release by order of the Prosecutor's Office. He stated that his arrest was illegal and recounted the details of the security measure session that took place on Friday, where he defended his client.
Barjami said the hearing, which took place three days after the arrest, was very long and contained numerous inconsistencies in the documents presented. “I found that none of the documents matched each other,” he said, adding that the court also noted this fact.
The hearing presented security camera footage from the bar where the incident occurred, which, according to the lawyer, proved that his client had not opposed the police, against the accusations raised for this action. “A scandal was proven, there was no criminal offense by my client, but by the police and the prosecution for the minutes kept,” declared Barjami, emphasizing that investigations into this matter continue.
The lawyer also spoke about the reaction of the prosecutor during the hearing, who according to him had an aggressive attitude and threatened that his arrest was illegal and that he had no authority to arrest him. Barjami said that he will not give up pursuing the case, despite the decision to release him.
He concluded by emphasizing that he will not file a report against his colleagues and that he will not defend clients who commit crimes against minors, respecting his professional principles.
