Durrës Police have issued an official announcement regarding the arrest of the former director of Durrës prison, following the escape of prisoner Altin Ndoci.
Authorities have announced that Cerloj has been located and placed in handcuffs, and he is accused of abuse of office.
The police have also announced that house arrest has been ordered for citizen Ylfete Sema, a doctor at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution.

The former director of the Durrës Penitentiary Institution is located, captured and put in handcuffs.
The security measure is also being implemented for the doctor at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution.
Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Support Section at the Durrës Local Police Directorate, made it possible to locate and capture citizen IC, 48 years old, resident of Durrës, former director of the Durrës Penitentiary Institution.
For this citizen, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, with decision no. 19/1, dated 15.01.2026, has determined the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Abuse of office".
Also, with the same decision, this court has imposed the security measure "House arrest" on citizen YS, 66 years old, resident of Durrës, a doctor at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".
The materials will be forwarded to the Durrës General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office for further action.
