The appeal of the GJKKO leaves in force the seizure of the villa in Palasa,

The appeal of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime leaves in force the decision to seize a villa in Palasa, registered at the request of Igli Tara, a property suspected of being the hidden assets of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

The property is suspected of being a bribe from Arbër Abazi, whose company Balluku, in his capacity as Minister of Infrastructure, favored with tenders.

On September 9, the Special Court imposed a preventive seizure on the villa in the “Green Coast” complex in Palasa, following a request from SPAK. According to the investigations, the property with a total area of 478 m² is suspected to have been actually owned by Balluku, while Igli Tare is suspected to have been used to hide it.

SPAK claims that the works on the villa were undertaken by Arbër Abazi, owner of the company “Alko Impex General Construction”, part of the consortium of operators that won the tender for Lot 7 of the Tirana Outer Ring Road. According to the investigation, the value of the works financed by Abazi ranges from 288 thousand to 410 thousand euros and is suspected of being an irregular benefit in exchange for favoring the company in the procurement procedure.
