Some schools in Albania continue to face inadequate infrastructure conditions, with the main problems remaining indoor and outdoor humidity, building depreciation, lack of heating and water, and old school equipment. These findings were published in the annual report of the State Health Inspectorate for 2024.
According to the report, a total of 4,033 inspections and re-inspections were carried out during the year in public and non-public educational institutions, from kindergartens and schools to universities, dormitories and canteens. The purpose of the inspections was to verify the implementation of laws and by-laws to guarantee optimal learning, living and recreational conditions for pupils and students.
The problems identified show that some educational institutions lack appropriate toilets for age groups, as well as basic infrastructure for the normal development of the learning process, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of children.
