The situation on the Vjosa River has deteriorated significantly, as the water level has reached 8 meters, causing an increased risk of flooding in some lowland areas. Civil Emergency Authorities have intervened immediately, evacuating families located closest to the river.
According to official data, a total of 10 families from the Roma community have been evacuated:
7 families in Novosela, where the water level has begun to extend into agricultural lands and endangers homes;
3 families in the village of Fitore, where the situation is considered particularly precarious due to the rapid approach of floods.
Civil Emergencies have placed families in temporary safe environments and are fully prepared for any further developments. Meanwhile, teams on the ground are continuously monitoring the river level and its flows, in order to intervene in time if the situation worsens further.
