Residents of the villages of Gjeroven, Mbolan and Veleshnje organized a protest in front of the Berat Municipality, demanding the improvement of the road connecting these areas.
During the protest, a four-person delegation entered the municipality's premises to hold a meeting with its representatives, where concerns about the condition of the road and the need for immediate intervention were discussed.
One of the protesters stated that they were met by the deputy mayor of Berat, Bledi Çili, but according to him, no concrete solution was offered. He said that the municipality claimed a lack of funds for road interventions, while accusing that citizens are only remembered during election periods.
"We met with the mayor. He told us that there are no funds to build the road. He told us: 'block the road, go on strike, do whatever you want. We don't ask about you'. They lie to you all day long. They come to get votes and then leave. They didn't give us hope, they told us 'we don't have funds'", said one of the protesters.
Residents are demanding urgent intervention to improve road infrastructure, emphasizing that the current situation makes daily life and movement between villages difficult.
