Since Thursday (March 4, 2026), the increase in the price of oil in the domestic retail market has not stopped, due to the rapid changes that the price is experiencing on foreign exchanges.
After the attacks in the Middle East began, retail oil prices have changed 3 times, reaching today in some points in Tirana at the level of 189 lek per liter. Compared to the price before the attacks began, oil has so far increased by 14 lek per liter.
A "Monitor" survey today shows that in some retail outlets the price has increased again by 7 lek per liter. From 182 lek on Friday (March 6), the price of diesel has reached 189 lek per liter.
The increased price in Tirana was recorded at the "Elda" company point near the Oxhak area, where oil reached 189 lek per liter.
A few percentage points increase was also recorded for the price of gasoline. At one of the points of the “Coral” company near “Casa Italia”, the price of gasoline reached 186 lek per liter. While diesel was traded at 181 lek per liter.
The prices of the "Gega" company at one of its points near the Food Market show that the price of oil is 182 lek per liter and has remained unchanged from the price on Friday (March 6).
Prices remain unchanged along the highway. At one of the points of the "Kastrati" company in Vora, the price of diesel is 182 lek per liter.
The "Alpet" company, at one of its points near the secondary highway, results in an unchanged price of 182 lek per liter.
The increase in the price of oil in the retail market began on March 4, by 4 lek per liter. From 175 lek, the price reached 179 lek per liter.
The price of 175 lek per liter had remained unchanged since October 2024.
Then, on March 6, the price increased again by 3 lek, reaching 182 lek per liter.
Today's increase in prices in the retail market comes immediately after the changes that the price of oil experienced on foreign exchanges yesterday evening, reaching the level of 100 USD per barrel. While this morning the price reached 103 USD per barrel.
