The official online websites of all state agencies with the "gov.al" domain were inaccessible at noon today, creating an unusual situation for public access to institutional services and information.
According to verifications conducted by Ekofin, attempts to access these pages were made from different IPs, for several consecutive minutes, specifically from 13:25 to 13:40, without any positive result. Despite continuous refreshes and attempts from different internet networks, none of the official pages have been functional. As of the moment of publication of this article, the portals continue to be offline.
There is currently no official announcement to clarify the reason for this massive malfunction. It is not known whether the problem is related to any technical process, maintenance or server updates by the National Information Society Agency (AKSHI), the institution responsible for the digital infrastructure of public administration.
On the other hand, the situation comes at a sensitive institutional moment, as the head of the AKSHI and her deputy are under investigation by SPAK, regarding suspicions of corruption and abuse of public procurement procedures. However, so far there is no official confirmation whether there is any connection between the investigations and the interruption of access to government portals.
The malfunctioning of the "gov.al" website directly affects institutional transparency and the access of citizens, businesses and the media to public information and digital services, bringing to attention the high dependence of the administration on a centralized technological infrastructure. /Ekofin.al/
