A road accident was recorded on the Maqellarë-Peshkopi national road, in a place called Melan, where two vehicles collided with each other.
As a result of the collision, a married couple was injured and transported by ambulance to Peshkopia Hospital for medical assistance. Sources indicate that the injured woman was pregnant, while their health condition is being monitored by doctors.
Police services have arrived at the scene and have launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of the accident. According to preliminary data, dense fog and the presence of ice on the road are suspected to have contributed to the loss of control of the vehicles.
Authorities are appealing to drivers to exercise increased caution, reduce speed and respect road traffic rules, especially in adverse weather conditions.
