The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has not spared criticism of the decision of the Administrative Court of First Instance, which overturned the expulsion of DP deputies from the Assembly, calling the decision an error and adding that the court has interfered with the powers of the Assembly.
The chairman of the SP parliamentary group does not spare irony, saying that the judge does not know that the Supreme Court of the Republic has consolidated the practice in a previous case, sanctioning the failure to cross the judicial fence into the legislative field for these disciplinary measures.
In a Facebook reaction, Balla says that the disciplinary measures are regular and in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, while such issues should only be handled by parliamentary bodies. According to Balla, the principle of parliamentary self-regulation, known as “autodichia”, gives the institution the right to handle disciplinary issues of its members itself.
Just like Edi Rama or other politicians who, when they are upset by court decisions, attack them, the chairman of the SP parliamentary group also seems to be affected by this syndrome. In any case, the court's decision can be appealed, which is normal behavior in respect of the justice reform and its institutions, so much praised but also criticized by the majority in recent months.
