One of the majority's concerns about the police officers who were injured in the protest was former minister Ervin Hoxha. He took the floor to accuse the opposition of burning the police officers alive, while also retaliating against Lëvizja Bashkë MP Redi Muçi, accusing him of inciting the use of Molotov cocktails.
"You throw Molotov cocktails at the police, you want to burn them alive. It's shameful, here I also refer to MP Muçi who said 'I suggest as many Molotov cocktails as possible'". Are you in the mood or not? What are you suggesting, Molotov cocktails?, said MP Hoxha.", said Hoxha.
In his response, Redi Muçi reminded former Minister Hoxhaj that he showed sensitivity towards police officers in the case of officer Azbi Spahiu, who attempted suicide due to the great pressure he felt after arresting the oligarch's son. According to him, Hoxha, then former Minister of Interior, did not bear any responsibility.
"I am addressing the former minister who mentioned police officers and violence against police officers here. But when he was minister, he did not have the courage to take responsibility for police officer Azbi Spahiu, who was forced to jump from a height due to great pressure because he had arrested the oligarch's son. This is the minister of police," said Muçi.
We recall that the event to which the Lëvizja Bashkë MP refers is from January 2025, where police officer Spahiu stopped Martin Mane, the son of businessman Samir Mane, after he had hit several vehicles parked on the street and refused to take an alcohol test. After this action, Azbi Spahiu was summoned by the AMP and held accountable for the actions he had taken.
Under pressure, he wrote to his son saying that they were ruining his career with games, and then attempted suicide by jumping from a height.
