Unofficial sources indicate that Igli Tafa is expected to replace Mirlinda Karçanaj at the head of AKSHI, after the latter was placed under "house arrest" as part of investigations into the institution's tenders.
Karçanaj is under security measures imposed by the Special Court, while investigations are underway against her regarding the public procurement procedures of the National Agency for Public Procurement.
To date, there has been no official confirmation from the government or the AKSHI itself about the new appointment, but the move is seen as part of efforts to stabilize the institution that manages the main electronic service systems in the country.
