After the "last mile" announced by Sali Berisha, the political scene received a new numerical update. This time it was DP MP Besart Xhaferri who announced from the Syri TV studio that the country is in the "last mile" of confronting what he calls the narco-regime installed by Edi Rama.
According to Xhaferri, the use of water cannons against protesters – including Berisha himself – is evidence of a repressive government seeking to suppress civic voice. At the same time, he cited international pressure, signals from Germany about EU integration, and the Belinda Balluku case as indicators that the political end is near.
From kilometer to meter, the opposition seems to be getting closer and closer to the finish line. The question that remains is: is the end really approaching, or is the rhetorical unit of measurement simply decreasing?
