Following the opposition protest on Saturday evening, police referred Democratic MP Klevis Balliu, who according to authorities was one of the organizers of the rally, to SPAK.
"The materials were referred to the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, regarding citizen KB, MP, for violating Law No. 9754, dated 14.06.2007 'On the Criminal Liability of Legal Entities', as well as for the criminal offense 'Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations'", the police announced.
During the national rally, protesters led by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, marched towards several institutions in the capital.
Molotov cocktails were thrown and trash cans were damaged during the march. In the former Blloku area, Molotov cocktails were thrown towards the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha, while clashes occurred between police and protesters.
